Overview - Business Coaching Groups

On this page, you’ll find info for a Transgender & non-binary coaching group I’m facilitating in early summer. This group is for Trans, non-binary, and other gender diverse LGBTQ+ siblings who want to start their own business (or grow a business where they bring in less than $1K a month).

I’m here to teach folks how to make MONEY.

This coaching group will be comprised of 8-12 participants who will meet weekly from May 4 - June 15, 2023.

Access to business knowledge

I’ve been a business owner for the past 7 years, and I started freelancing over 10 years ago. In ”Self-Employment Land” there is a STEEP AS FUCK learning curve when it comes to owning your own business.

Many Trans, non-binary and other gender diverse people end up owning their own business, due to a variety of reasons. Often, due to employment discrimination.

I’ve worked as a business coach for the last 5 years, and I am offering this group to Transgender and Non-Binary folks who own their own business, as a 100% no-cost 6 week group. I hope that the group becomes a great space for networking and community building, as well as providing helpful and actionable info.

I’m Brianne (she/her), a white queer femme who fucking loves helping people make money. I have a bunch of different businesses I run, and you can creep on my Twitter and Instagram!

I am offering this coaching group as a form of active allyship, and I do not identify as Transgender, non-binary, etc. Over the last few years, I’ve worked with a number of Transgender and non-binary clients who are self-employed due to discrimination, medical costs, and a whole bunch of other reasons. An economic safety net is a huge concern for many Transgender & non-binary folks, so I’ve decided to offer this group as a resource.

This group will be focused helping people who make their income online, in some capacity. Those who sell physical products or goods are welcome to join!

ANOTHER Note: You do not have to have a business running RIGHT THIS SECOND to join the group. If you know what you want to do (or have a bunch of ideas), this group is for you.

Who is this coaching group for?

This coaching group is for people who identify as Transgender, Gender Non-Binary (GNB), or other folks who may answer “none of the above” when asked to fill in a bubble about their gender identity.

Some folks may not be comfortable taking on a label at this exact moment in time, and if that’s you — you’re invited! Various messy gender feels are welcome in my house!! <3

To date, I’ve worked with approximately ~30 clients who are Trans//Transgender//GNB. To my knowledge, I have not worked with clients who identify as Two Spirit or Third Gender – but these folks are 100% welcome to join.

What type of businesses are a fit?

Below are some examples of clients I have worked with, BUT please note that this isn’t a complete or exhaustive list. If you’re not sure your business is a fit, please feel free to send me an email!

Schedule

  • Week 1:  Intros, Goal Setting & Client Boundaries

    • During this session, group members will be invited to introduce themselves and their business(es).

    • We’ll get to know one another and build rapport for the coaching group.

    • Topic: Working with Clients & Getting Customers

      • During this session, I’ll share how I communicate boundaries with clients – and how I land clients!

  • Week 2:  Money!!

    • During this session, I’ll share how to set pricing for goods and services. (This is going to be heavily influenced by the type of business owners in the group.)

      • How to determine your hourly rate

      • How to figure out pricing for physical goods

      • How to offer sliding scale options

  • Week 3:  Managing Operations

    • During this week, we’ll cover:

      • Accounting 101

      • Billing & Invoicing

      • Setting up a business entity

    • **I’m not a lawyer or a CPA, but I’ll share how I and my clients handle these things.

  • Week 5:  Website Set Up

    • This session will teach business owners how to set up a simple website on Squarespace or Shopify.

    • I’ll also share copy/writing templates for you to use for your website, making it easier to go live!

  • Week 6:  Social Media Marketing

    • We love marketing!

    • During this session, I’ll teach participants how to market themselves on various social media platforms.  We’ll also discuss risks and preventative measures with being Trans and/or GNB online.

    • I’m not going to cover every possible platform.  Rather, this session will be tailored for the platforms that fit the businesses of participants.

Homework Optional

Some of my clients find homework SUPER useful to help them make progress – and some don’t! Every week will include an hour of optional homework. Participants can share their progress in the group, questions, etc.

Sessions on zoom & facebook group

Sessions will (likely) be held at 7PM MST. Course videos will be stored in a Facebook group, where I’ll also answer questions throughout the week. Videos (via FB Live) will be available for as long as Zuck Inc keeps FB groups and their content around. ❤
